Namobuddha Balthali Day Hike

Namobuddha Balthali Day Hike is the combination of attractive natural places and cultural beauty to the east of Kathmandu. Passing through beautiful vallyes like Shanku and Balthali, unexplored villages, freshwater streams and rivers makes your hiking thrilled and unforgetteble. This will be the perfect way of refreshment to avoid hectic routines at home and work. There is chance to take deep breaths in the fresh air passing farms and streams and under the pine trees. Chirping bird sound and gargeling river sound would definitely attract your mind and let you lost for sometime in nature to reenrgized. 

The hike start at Namobuddha, driving about 1.30 hours from Kathmandu city. Namobuddha is one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Nepal and one of the holiest in the world where Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery is situated. This site is known as the place where the Buddha, in a previous life as a prince gave his body to starving tigress and her cubs. 

The hike follows through several villages with the views of panoramic Langtang and Dorje Lakpa Himalayan ranges, forests, rivers and farmlands. About 2 hours of descending and then ascending about an hour will take you to the famous village Balthali. Balthali is very famous hill station for weekend and day tour offer rice and mustard terraces fields, rural hamlets, Buddhist and Hindu temples, green forests, snowy Himalayan views. 

One can make visit to Ladkeshowr Mahadev Temple (the temple of Lord Shiva) during the hiking while other can wandering around the village and explore its beauty. We finally make our hike down to Khopasi and take drive back to Kathmandu via Panauti. 

07:00am: Pickup at hotel, drive to Namobuddha (40 kms, 1:30 hours)
09:00am:  Start hiking from Namobuddha to Balthali village which will take 2 and half hours, lunch at Balthali. 
12:00noon: Lunch at Balthali
01:00pm: Exploring around this beautiful village after lunch and hike down to Khopasi. 
04:30pm: Drive back to Kathmandu (32kms, 1.15 hours)
